Within the scope of career talks organized by the Department of International Trade and Finance of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences (FEAS) at Afyon Kocatepe University (AKÜ), a “Career Talk” event was held on December 26 at 14:30.
The event, which took place at the Prof. Dr. Sabri Bektöre Conference Hall, was attended by Vice Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Dr. Hale Fulya Kaya, as well as academic staff and students. The guest speaker of the Career Talk was Zeynep Palalı, an AKÜ graduate and the owner of Şeker Palas. Stating that she represents the third generation in the confectionery and Turkish delight sector, Palalı shared the establishment process of the Şeker Palas brand and the history of her family business.
While talking about her long-term plans in the sector, Palalı emphasized the importance of social media in the retail industry. She stated:
“Today, social media is extremely important. When I first started my business, I did not use social media. Later, I began to use it. Currently, I do not have a website, but I am planning to establish one in the near future. Promoting yourself and marketing products through social media has become much easier and more effective.”
The event concluded following a question-and-answer session.
